Craig Petey is a ceramic artist as well as an energetic personality. His passion for life comes through in his work. His pieces often attract his audience (like his aura) by capturing their attention and physically moving them to handle his work. His work is a mix of rough and smooth textures most often wood fired. His pieces are wheel formed, but left in their most pure and naturally earthlike stage to best reflect the origins of the clay. Craig has won a variety of awards from 1997-2005. He is currently the ceramics studio director at CCA, in Oakland Ca. He received his B.A. in Pre-medicine at The Pennsylvania State University: State College, Pennsylvania. As well as his M.A. in Physiology. Craig often wood fires his work in Scott Parady's Pope Valley Kiln.
