Ron Meyers began as an art educator with a BS from Buffalo State College in 1956. He went on to study ceramics with Hans Wildenhein at the School for American Craftsmen, and got his MFA in 1967 from the Rochester Institute of Technology in upstate New York. He is currently retired from teaching at the University of Georgia , where he was from 1972 - 1992. Ron lives and works outside of Athens, Georgia, teaching many workshops annually as well as making pots on a daily basis. He has recently added a wood kiln to his studio grounds and is firing many of his pots with wood and throwing in some salt for good measure. Certainly you will find a cigar in his mouth on the outside, maybe even a glass of Jim Beam, a dill pickle and stinky cheese if it's lunch time. |
